

Compared to the original versions of the games, the custom soundtrack functionality from all three games and custom player skin fuctionality of Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City were removed. Upon release the game received severe criticism for its visuals, grammatical errors in upscaled textures, poor performance and technical issues. Data miners found that it was most likely based on the mobile ports of the originals, which feature numerous bugs, like broken bicycle physics in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. The Definitive Edition release was very much similar to the original's, but with redone and AI upscaled textures and improved lighting.
